| Saint
Maxime is located on the road between Cavalaire and Saint Tropez.
We had driven through there on our way to Nice and decided to return
for a day to explore. It's a small
town with wonderful beaches and spectacular view of Saint Tropez
which is across the bay. You can see all the yachts of the
rich and famous in the bay.
We took a fairly long stroll along the
Promenade before reaching Old Town where once again and typical for
Southern France we encountered tons of restaurants and small shops
along small narrow streets.
On the Promenade I had a very nice
conversation with an elderly French gentlemen and I was amazed how
with my very broken French and his broken English we were able to
make sense of our conversation. The bottom line was that he
loves the US and I love France.
On the way back to Cavalaire we stopped to
take a picture of a bowling alley. We thought it was funny
that it was called "Le Bowling". There is also a campground in
Saint Maxime with great view of Saint Tropez. Might be worth a
camping trip. |
